Proof that I can still take dodgy pictures with a decent camera. |
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water -- I read about this on Danielle's April Favourites post and remembered seeing it at the supermarket, so I went out and purchased it! I'm really lazy when it comes to skincare (a bad trait, I know, but I'm working on it!) and this has been a God-send whenever I don't really feel like going through the annoyance of washing my face properly to take off my makeup. It's also great for when I decide to try lipsticks and glosses, as I wet a cotton pad with it and wipe away the product with ease!
L'Oreal False Lash Butterfly Wings Mascara -- I was looking forward so much to this purchase, ever since I saw Chloe Morello's L'Óreal Fashion Week videos, where she positively raved about it. I bought it on sale and although I was initially slightly disappointed, as I've gotten used to it I have grown to adore it. It thickens my lashes and gives them the most amazing curled length. It's incomparable to any other mascara I've used.
Maybelline Eye Studio Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner -- I have had a lot of bad luck with drugstore liquid liners in the past. I once bought one that dried up after it's second use! This one however, has been absolutely fantastic. It goes on easily and is easy to fix if you make mistakes. My only concern is with the applicator itself, as I'm not used to such a flimsy-ish brush (I usually use a liner brush with gel liner) so I find that I'm more prone to annoying little mistakes if I'm not careful. This one does require something of a steady, controlled hand!
Lipton Virgin Daiquiri Iced Tea -- Okay, so, not a makeup product, but definitely a favourite for the past month (although there's none in my fridge at the moment, hence the official Lipton picture). I'm not a fan of hot tea, but I love iced tea with a passion. This one is my absolute favourite -- it's strawberry and dragonfruit flavours are sweet, but not so sweet that you feel like you're drinking cordial. I'm not a huge fan of strawberries, so I like that I can't really taste it.
Napoleon Perdis Auto-Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer -- I bought this to replace my Benefit POREfessional Primer, which was gorgeous but far too expensive to repurchase, considering I would go through it in a month. I've had this primer for a few months and I love it. I had my reservations, as it's supposed to create a glowing complexion (and I usually prefer to stay matte) but it's worked really well in combination with my foundation. I've noticed my foundations stay on longer and don't budge so much during the day.
Napoleon Perdis Sheer Genius Liquid Foundation in "Look 3" -- this is a bit of an odd favourite, as it wasn't exactly a purchase. I got a sample of this product when I went to Myer a while ago and got a heap of Napoleon Perdis freebies (you can read the post here). I recently started using it on top of my Auto-Pilot Primer and I was absolutely impressed. It gave me great coverage and seemed to blend into my skin effortlessly without seeming too dark. I'm going to double check that "Look 3" is my tone, as you can sort of see it on my hand, but it at the same time blurs the veins on my hand so well that it doesn't necessarily look like I'm wearing foundation! I think I'll probably be purchasing this in the future.

And that concludes my May Favourites! What did you love in the month of May?

I've been debating on purchasing the Butterfly mascara for ages now and I keep overlooking it in the store, but I think I might have to try it...I can't believe how big Claflin is for how young he is!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about doing a comparative review on it for a little while, just so you can see how it compares to others that I've bought, but I definitely think it's worth a purchase. And yes, he's so big! He used to be able to sit on my shoulder!
